One of the happiest days of my life was the day I heard that margarine is worse for you than butter. Yes, there is a power of the universe that gives us goodness. So that's why today I want to root for potatoes. Sometimes meat has been given a bad rap, sometimes pasta has been given a bad rap, sometimes ice cream... sacrilegious... has been given a bad rap.
But potatoes really do take it on the chin sometimes and I'm here to tell you that here in Sonoma County we have the most extreme extraordinary collection of potatoes you've ever tasted. Seen, yes, tasted. You should try them. I was at a diner the other day and it must have been six different kinds of potatoes. They I think they were sauteed each separately in butter or olive oil with a little bit of salt and then they were all thrown together and put next to my eggs.
